Better Manufacturing Makes a Better World
At Harkened, we're on a mission to revolutionize the fashion industry by manufacturing items that are not only made to last but also empower our clients and everyone in the supply chain. With a focus on innovation and circular processes, we honor artisans and their craft while bringing handmade quality into mainstream fashion.
Bringing Craft into Mainstream Fashion
Our journey began in Lima, Peru, in 2015, driven by a vision to address the need for craft-centered brands to reliably and responsibly produce their designs at scale. Despite prevailing skepticism from manufacturers about the feasibility of handmade items, we embarked on a journey of close collaboration with artisans, building a system that worked for all sides.
Founder and CEO Kelly Phenicie, a passionate advocate for people and the environment, saw the potential for combining these values within the fashion industry. After living in Lima from 2006 to 2020, Kelly established Harkened in the US in 2021 to expand our sourcing abilities, resources, and expertise.
The HARKENED Ecosystem:
Our slow fashion world is proudly made of three balanced parts:
Supporting sustainable brands by sourcing and delivering ethical products.
Connecting the heads, hearts and hands to successfully manufacture craft at scale with artisans in Peru.
Improving the circularity of manufacturing by repurposing materials leftover during the production process.
